About Fountain Hills, Arizona
Founded in 1970, this young town is located east of Scottsdale and about 45 minutes from the Sky Harbor International Airport. The town of Fountain Hills is home to about 23,000 residents. Fountain Hills is known for having one of the highest fountains in the world—shooting more than 560-feet high in the middle of Fountain Park, visitors marvel in the beauty of this legendary fountain.
The average temperature in Fountain Hills is 75 degrees and more than 300 days each year are sun-filled. The weather is beautiful, allowing locals and visitors to enjoy outdoor activities year-round. Fountain Hills offers a wide variety of cultural and family-oriented activities throughout the year. Each year in February, visit the Fountain Hills Great Fair—enjoy the hot air balloon rally, art sales, food, friends and fun. Then, in November, enjoy the Fountain Hills Festival of Arts and Crafts.
Other outdoor attractions include the Out of Africa Wildlife Park—a natural setting where visitors can walk among the wildlife including giraffes, elephants and wild cats. Also, the McDowell Mountain Regional Park—22,000 acres of hiking trails, camping and other outdoor activities.
